We breed and raise F1 Goldendoodle and Labradoodle Puppies
Labradoodles and Goldendoodles vary greatly in the coat of hair. The reason for this is that there are numerous variations of cross breeding with the Labradoodle breed.
F1 breed = First generation cross of a pure bred Golden Retriever or Labrador Retriever and a pure bred Standard Poodle. This is like getting a very smart Golden Retriever or Labrador Retriever that doesn't shed as much as the Retriever. :) This is a puppy who is 50% Standard Poodle and 50% Retriever. This is what we sell.
F1 mini = First generation cross of a pure bred Golden Retriever or Labrador Retriever and and a pure bred miniature Poodle. This is a puppy who is 50% Miniature Poodle and 50% Retriever.
F2 breed= The breeding of 2, F1 parents. Making a second generation of the Goldendoodle or Labradoodle cross. This is still 50% Standard Poodle and 50% Retriever. This can go up to multi generations of breeding.
F1b breed= This is taking a Goldendoodle or Labradoodle parent who is F1 and breeding her back over with either one of her pure bred parents breed (eg. Labrador Retriever or Golden Retriever Mom and Poodle Dad or vice versa). This puppy will be 75% Poodle and 25% Retriever. This breed is hypoallergenic and does not shed.
You will notice that the F1 Goldendoodle or Labradoodle breed has the wavy hair with a few exceptions of some in litter having more Golden Retriever or Labrador Retriever like hair. The F1b if it is crossed back over with a Poodle will have the very curly Poodle hair.
I hope this helps you understand more as you search for your perfect pet and try to understand all the terminology.
